Florence Duomo tickets: pick the pass that actually fits

The nave of Santa Maria del Fiore is free. The dome, bell tower, baptistery, museum and crypt are not: you need one of Opera’s three combined passes, or a tour. Read the difference before you pay.

Duomo Florence tickets are not one SKU. Since 2022 Opera has sold three combined passes: Brunelleschi (the only one with the dome climb), Giotto (tower, no dome), Ghiberti (baptistery, museum, crypt). There are no single-monument tickets.

This homepage is the commercial hub: compare passes, tours and Uffizi/Accademia combos, then open the monument dossiers. Official tariff and hours below come from the Opera webshop. Prices in the widgets are Tiqets partner rates and are not the €15/20/30 pass prices.

Ticket comparison: nave, passes, tours

Free nave

If you only want the Gothic interior, Uccello’s clock and Last Judgement from the floor. Piazza queues still hit 45–60 minutes in peak season. No legal skip-the-line.

Opera passes

Brunelleschi €30 if you need the dome. Giotto €20 if you want the view *of* the dome. Ghiberti €15 if you skip the climbs. Valid 3 calendar days, one entry per monument.

Partner tours & fast track

Useful when official dome slots are gone or you want a live guide in EN/ES/IT. Premium Fast Track (Tiqets 1032002) from €58 is not the €30 pass.

The three passes in one line

  • Brunelleschi Pass — dome + tower + baptistery + museum + Santa Reparata. Named dome slot; from 1 March 2025 ID must match the name on the ticket.
  • Giotto Pass — everything except the dome. Slot for the bell tower. 414 steps, and the view of the dome you do not get from Brunelleschi’s lantern.
  • Ghiberti Pass — baptistery, museum, crypt. Slot for Santa Reparata. Students: €5 reduced only at the Piazza San Giovanni 7 ticket office.

Timing is everything

The square is quietest at baptistery opening (8:30) and after 16:00, when the nave has already closed. Façade photos without coaches: weekdays 8:00–8:20, shooting west-to-east. Sunday dome slots start at 12:45: shorter window, fewer tour groups than Saturday.

Opera’s 2026 maintenance closures: bell tower 9–13 November, dome 16–20 November. Complex closed 25 December, 1 January, Easter Sunday.

The insider entry

Do not join the façade queue for the dome. Walk the north flank to Porta della Mandorla. Mass uses Porta dei Canonici on the south. Free cloakroom for pass holders: Piazza Duomo 38/r, beside the museum, 07:30–20:15.

How to save

  • Ages 0–6: free passes (still book the slot if required).
  • Ages 7–14: official reduced €12 / €7 / €5 depending on pass.
  • Students: Ghiberti only, €5 at the ticket office with student ID; not online.
  • Metropolitan City residents: Giglio Pass on the first Sunday of the month (baptistery, museum, crypt), ticket office only.
  • Do not buy “Duomo skip the line” for the nave. Opera does not recognise it.

How to get there

Piazza del Duomo, 50122 Florence. About 10 minutes on foot from Santa Maria Novella via Via Panzani / Via de’ Cerretani. The centre is a ZTL: park at Fortezza or Sant’Ambrogio. Hop-on/hop-off stops nearby but does not enter the square.

Guide map

Open the Duomo hub for history; the dome for the 463 steps; reservations for slot rules; guided tours for live guides. Uffizi and Accademia combos live on Firenze Card & combos: those are a different ticketing system from Opera’s passes.

Official hours and pass prices: Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore, tickets.duomo.firenze.it. Partner (Tiqets) prices as of August 2026; they change.

FAQ

No. Opera lists authorised 2026 B2B partners, including Tiqets. The official webshop remains tickets.duomo.firenze.it. This site is independent; booking widgets open the partner catalogue.
Not for the nave: entry is free and Opera says there is no skip-the-line service and never will be. Dome, bell tower and crypt use timed slots on a pass. Sellers advertising skip-the-line for the nave are not authorised.
On the official site: Brunelleschi €30 (reduced €12, ages 7–14), Giotto €20 (€7), Ghiberti €15 (€5). Ages 0–6 free. Partner prices for tours and fast-track products differ; read the product card.
No. Opera’s FAQ is explicit: you still need a regular complex pass.
Porta della Mandorla, north side of the cathedral, not the main façade doors. Arrive 5 minutes before your slot; roughly 5 minutes’ lateness can mean refusal.
Nave 20–40 minutes. Dome about 1 hour (463 steps). Bell tower about 45 minutes (414 steps). Museum about 90 minutes. A 72-hour pass is easier split over two days.
Not for tourist visits: roughly Mon–Sat 10:15–15:45, closed to visitors on Sundays and during services. Mass uses the south side (Porta dei Canonici).
